Men's 1s vs Crawley 2

Saturday morning… Spring was in the air… The Sun was shining…. The Birds were singing…. & Hailsham had one objective in mind…. Gold!!

The ‘Sham started the game knowing with nothing but a win would seal the league. 

Josh Smithus-Jonas opened the goal tally for the game marking 100 league goals scored for the team with an unstoppable drag flick into the bottom right corner…. And just moments later later he only bags himself another goal from another short corner….

Jamie ‘Fasttt’ Hayes made it 3-0 not long after….

After Sam Rhams miscommunication from a short corner plan Lee ‘Roii’ Humber received the ball to make amends to find Dave Antonia to slot it into the bottom corner… 4-0 half time 

Second half… well what can we say… a half of pure giggles. Antonia grabbed his second of the game to make it 5-0 to the ‘Sham. 

GOAL OF THE SEASON INCOMING…. 

Fantastic play from the team… passing from round the back into midfield… passing with pace and accuracy for the ball to find SJ at the top of the D to get the shot away to make it yet again another hat trick in the season. SJ took the shot on his reverse beating defenders and keeper… for Josh ‘The Poacher’ Higgs to help it into the goal with half an inch to go over the line. 

A special mention to Rham aswell for his fantastic Tom Daley impression when his hamstring tweaked…. an extravagant dive onto the floor in pain sees him get the ball smashed into him by the oppo…. And Lee Roii had a senior moment calling for a Horsham ball when we were playing Crawley!

But not to worry Sports Fans! SJ did bag himself his hat trick with a fantastic effort with a strike into the bottom left corner. 

Final whistle blows at the end of the 70 mins and Hailsham along with the 50,000 fans who turned up to watch celebrated
